Organi Limited is a value chain processor of provitamin-A rich, Orange Flesh Sweet Potato (OFSP) into various food products such as sweet potato composite bakery, confectionaries sweet potato puree and, now has ventured into sweet potato flakes production. The Company is based in Homabay County.

Overview 

Organi’s vision is to establish a sustainable market system for vitamin A rich, orange-fleshed sweet potato (OFSP) and related products, that results in increased income for smallholder farmers (at least 50% of whom are women and 20% youth) in Homa Bay and five surrounding counties:  Migori, Kakamega, Busia, Kericho and Kisumu and increased vitamin A intakes for both rural and urban consumers.

Goals

• Promote Provitamin A orange fleshed sweet potato (OFSP) farming both for nutrition and income generation and thus combatting Vitamin A deficiency.
• Provide Market Access for the local sweet potato farmers who were being exploited by middlemen from big Towns.
• Provide employment to the local youth through OFSP processing and women

Root procurement begins by contracting farmers either directly or through farmer representatives such as cooperatives. Our main markets are currently major retail outlets in Kenya.
